Overview

BGC Thunder Bay has served children and youth aged 4 to 18 for over 50 years, with recreational, educational, nutritional, and leadership programming run out of their Windsor Unit facility, from after-school care and summer camps to cooking classes, PA day programs, and a supper club. They needed a website that organized all of it clearly for parents, made membership registration straightforward, promoted volunteer and donation opportunities, and could be managed by their small team. We built it on WordPress with Elementor, with dedicated pages for each program area, registration, volunteering, birthday bookings, and donations, then trained the team to run it themselves. We also set up Mailchimp and trained staff to send community newsletters, giving them a direct line to families and full control of their content.

The Challenge

BGC Thunder Bay runs a wide range of programs out of their Windsor Unit facility, from after-school care and summer camps to cooking classes, PA day programs, and a supper club. They needed a site that organized all of this clearly for parents, made membership registration straightforward, and promoted volunteer and donation opportunities. Most importantly, it had to be manageable by their small team without relying on a developer for every update.

Our Solution

We designed and built the site on WordPress with Elementor, creating dedicated pages for each program area, membership registration, volunteer opportunities, birthday party bookings, and donation options. The site is structured so parents can quickly find the information they need, from program schedules to safe arrival details. We then trained the BGC team on how to manage the site themselves, from updating program information to publishing news posts. We also set up Mailchimp and trained staff on how to create and send newsletters to keep their community informed about upcoming programs and events.

Results

BGC Thunder Bay now has a professional website that clearly communicates their programs and services to the community. Their team manages all content independently, publishing news updates, program changes, and event information without developer involvement. The Mailchimp integration gives them a direct line to families, keeping the community engaged with regular newsletters about upcoming programs and opportunities.

Camrin and his team at CSP Marketing excel in creating and supporting club websites, offering comprehensive training, timely responses, and exceptional consideration for non-profit organizations. Highly recommended!
